Responsibilities
Oversees the daily administration, optimization, and security of both server and database environments across Linux and Windows platforms
Managing system performance
Executing upgrades, patches, and migrations
Troubleshooting to ensure reliability and scalability
Maintaining and optimizing virtualized infrastructure—primarily on Nutanix AHV
Installing, configuring, and tuning Oracle and PostgreSQL databases to uphold high availability and strong performance
Managing backup and recovery operations, including routine backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning, ensuring that all systems meet organizational continuity requirements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of 8+ years of experience in system and database administration
Strong proficiency with Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, etc.) and Windows operating systems
In-depth knowledge of Oracle and PostgreSQL database administration, including clustering and replication
Experience managing virtualized environments using platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Nutanix
Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions, especially Rubrik
Strong understanding of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python) for automation
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
Preferred
Certifications such as RHCE, MCSE, Oracle Certified Professional, or PostgreSQL certifications
Knowledge of cloud platforms and hybrid infrastructure integration
Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, or SOX
