SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER - INTERDISCIPLINARY

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Element. Develops Element goals and objectives that integrate organization and Engineering Flight objectives
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities
Represents the Element with a variety of installation and functional area organizations
Communicates and coordinates Element issues with higher headquarters, regulatory agencies, other installation units, community officials, etc
Directs the development and execution of Element budget and preparation of Planning, Programming, and Budgeting System (PPBS) documentation in support of engineering planning and execution

Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle
May be required to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Force during exercises or in the event of an actual emergency
Professional registration or license as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect in one of the 50 states or territories is desired but not required
The work requires the employee to access facilities and infrastructure which may require climbing on, crawling under or extensive walking at construction sites, hard hat areas or other base areas
This is a Key Position
This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program
This is a Supervisory Position. A 1-year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance
This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems
You must submit a copy of your transcripts
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas
