Responsibilities
Design mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for industrial laser machinery
Develop detailed SolidWorks 3D models and 2D drawings
Perform mechanical analysis, validation, and performance testing
Support prototype builds and transition designs into manufacturing
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and production teams
Troubleshoot mechanical issues during build, test, and deployment
Ensure designs meet engineering standards, safety requirements, and quality expectations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
5–7+ years of mechanical design experience
Strong proficiency in SolidWorks CAD
Experience with industrial machinery, automation equipment, or capital equipment
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and mechanical assemblies
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work hands-on in a production-oriented engineering environment
Preferred
Experience with laser systems, CNC machinery, or automated equipment
Familiarity with GD&T and engineering documentation standards
Exposure to optics or electromechanical systems is a plus
