Responsibilities
Planning, executing, and implementing new system hardware and software
Developing and maintaining technical instructions, standard operating procedures, and policies
Monitoring server operations
Producing utilization and performance reports
Identifying issues and corrective actions as needed
Supporting the full lifecycle management of vendor equipment within the data center, including firmware version control and scheduled preventive maintenance
Qualification
Required
7–10 years of senior-level Windows Systems Administration experience, with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects in complex enterprise environments
Strong knowledge of automation concepts, tools, and scripting (PowerShell, SCCM, etc.), including automating routine administrative tasks
Solid understanding of network, storage, server, and application technologies, with working knowledge of DoD STIGs and IAVM security practices
Excellent documentation, communication, and collaboration skills, including developing and maintaining technical documentation and instructions
Must live within 50 miles of Radford, VA as this job requires in person work at least 3 days per week
Must hold and maintain an Active DoD Secret clearance
Preferred
Experience supporting medium-to-large data center environments, including maintaining data center technologies and developing firmware/driver best practices to ensure high system availability
Strong PowerShell scripting skills, with the ability to design, document, and deliver enterprise-level implementations using tools such as MS Project and Visio
Proven ability to develop and maintain technical documentation and instructions, and to train and mentor junior team members
