Lead inspection teams

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or equivalent
4+ years of experience in bridge inspection and/or design
Professional Engineering (PE) license (any state)
FHWA/NHI Training – (130055) Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges or current (130053) Bridge Inspection Refresher Training (Optional)
Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, and the application to project work-related issues
Physically capable of performing continuous field work, including working at heights and in close quarters; climbing; carrying ladders and gear; working in adverse weather conditions; and working at night; around moving vehicles; etc
Valid Driver's License is required
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is required
Preferred
Additional FHWA/NHI Training - (130078) Bridge Inspection Techniques for Nonredundant Steel Tension Members (NSTM); (130087) Inspection of Ancillary Highway Structures; (130110) Tunnel Safety Inspection
Familiarity with NYSDOT Bridge Inspection Standards including knowledge of NYSDOT bridge inspection software – Structures Management System (SMS)
