Responsibilities
Locating sources to verify factual information, especially when sources are poorly identified
Identifying discrepancies between text and accompanying graphics such as charts and tables
Restructuring sentences for clarity without changing the original meaning
Contacting authors to resolve inconsistencies in factual data
Providing technical assistance across a variety of publications, ensuring all documents meet quality standards before submission
Reviewing documents for errors, safeguarding access to sensitive files, and maintaining confidentiality
Editing and updating existing materials, ensuring all technical content is accurate, comprehensive, and easy to understand
Collaborating with authors and subject matter experts to clarify technical details and improve document quality, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and guidelines
Qualification
Required
BA/BS degree in English, Technical Communication, or a relevant field
Five to eight (5-8) years of proven technical writing and editing experience
Proficiency in editing technical papers and publications
Strong understanding of technical terminology and documentation standards
Intermediate to advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams
Effective communication skills to liaise with team members, stakeholders, and external contacts at all levels
Current security clearance at the Secret level
U.S. citizenship

Prior experience working within a government environment, particularly with scientific and technical subject matter
