Responsibilities
The individual in this position is responsible for producing Outside Plant (OSP) GIS designs and associated work package documents in coordination with other engineering department personnel
Qualified individuals should be experienced in reading and understanding utility or telecommunications cable systems and associated OSP documents
While having great drawing quality, speed, and quality control, candidates must meet and follow company and business unit directives and practices

Required
Experienced in CAD/GIS systems
Experienced in Adobe Acrobat (pdf)
Experienced in reading and understanding utility or telecommunications cable systems and associated OSP documents
Great drawing quality, speed, and quality control
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio)
Proficiency with Google Earth and Adobe Pro
Ability to pay close attention to detail and make sound decisions using information at hand
Strong Verbal and Written communication skills
Basic mathematical skills and calculation skills
Understand routing of utilities and placement techniques
Use mature judgment in all aspects of the job
Excellent analytical skills and ability to problem solve
High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED) required OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the essential duties of the position
Preferred
Candidates local to the greater Fort Wayne, Indiana area
Ability to read and interpret underground and aerial telecom facilities records on maps and fielding notes
Experience with GIS based design platforms
Ability to convey GIS/spatial information to non-GIS/technical people
Analytical Skills - The ability to solve problems using the GIS suite of tools
Research various websites for GIS data applicable to each project
Understanding of communications engineering and related systems
Previous experience working in telecom computer aided design (FROGS)
Previous experience working in other telecom computer aided design 3GIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or other telecom CAD applications/systems
Skilled in multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
Associates degree or Certificate in AutoCAD or MicroStation or equivalent experience or Associates degree or ESRI Technical Certification or equivalent experience
