Responsibilities

Lead activities to develop, document, and maintain software architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for complex software systems
Drive the development of high-quality code and integrate various software components into comprehensive, functional systems
Create and execute software verification plans, including test procedures and environments, to ensure all system requirements are met and documented accurately
Provide technical leadership across projects, guiding team members and managing software supplier relationships to ensure deliverables meet Boeing standards
Develop, select, and tailor processes, tools, and metrics to optimize software development workflows and quality
Plan, execute, and document research and development initiatives aimed at advancing Boeing’s technological capabilities
Serve as a subject matter expert in specific software domains, addressing system-specific issues, processes, and regulatory compliance
Monitor and evaluate team and supplier performance to uphold product quality, process conformance, and adherence to project timelines and industry standards

Required

A minimum of 7 years of experience designing and developing software using languages such as Python, C#, C, C++, or Java is required
At least 3 years of experience working within Agile development environments
2 years in a leadership capacity, guiding teams and managing projects effectively
A relevant bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degree in fields such as Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics

Preferred

Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS or Cloud Foundry/Tanzu
Web development frameworks such as ASP.NET MVC, Node.js, React.js
Familiarity with DevOps practices including CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes
Collaboration tools like GitLab, TFS, JIRA, Jenkins, and Artifactory
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to continuous learning and innovation
