HCAI - HEALTH INFORMATION AND ELECTRONIC RECORDS ANALYST TRAINING PROGRAM
OCHIN, Inc. is offering a grant-funded training program designed to equip students with the skills needed to manage healthcare information and electronic health record systems. Participants will receive hands-on training in various tools and prepare for certification, focusing on real-world challenges in clinical data management and system implementation.

Responsibilities
Work newly identified duplicate/overlay cases using designated reports, work queues, e-mail communications and phone calls
Conduct detailed review of identified issues and documentation in logs and data bases
Follows established procedure for combining cases, moving cases, adding known non-duplicates
Professional communication with downstream and external users
Review and process information collected from various inbound interfaces and Epic sub systems to ensure data integrity
Prepare reports for distribution and monitors for completion
Provide support to healthcare staff for EPIC and other EHR systems by troubleshooting and resolving application issues
Manage data integrity through error queue management and accurate reporting, including lab, prescription, and charge routing errors
Collaborate with clinical teams to enhance system efficiency and improve health information processes
Maintain user accounts, workstations, and system configurations to ensure smooth operations
Lead system testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance, ensuring compliance with privacy and security standard
Oversight of the quality, timeliness, and accuracy of the medical record and patient indexes for patient care, legal, revenue, research, and regulatory needs
Maintaining the security and integrity of health information
Collection, quality control, and dissemination of data for comparative databases and statistical reports including specific disease and procedure registries
Maintains and contributes to patient care by organizing and maintaining patients’ medical records and health information
Answers requests for information and documents
Updates and reviews medical records by reviewing information, notifying healthcare providers of record deficiencies, and tracking outstanding records
Maintains patient confidence and protects our operations by keeping information confidential and complying with privacy policies and regulation
Updates medical history in a timely manner
Receiving and processing patient forms, medical histories, and test results
Analyzing the information collected to ensure that it is correct and accurate
Assessing health records and insurance claims
Ensuring compliance with confidentiality laws and regulations
Managing and updating data for clinical databases and registries
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Applicants must be residents of California and live within 30–45 minutes of Oakland, CA
Must be 18 years or older
Must have a high school diploma or GED certification
Must be a U.S. Citizen/National or have a valid Lawful Permanent Resident Alien (not open to non-citizens or Visa holders)
Must have proficient computer experience (MS Windows & MS Suite (Word, Excel, PP, Outlook)
Ability to type Net 40 wpm
Great attention to detail and strict HIPAA compliance
Analytical and detail oriented
Able to learn in a self-directed, fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
Participants must complete 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during regular business hours for the entire duration of the program
Participants must provide proof of full vaccination or receive approval for a medical or religious exemption prior to program acceptance
Participants must provide proof of meeting the immunization requirements specific to the host site prior to acceptance into the program
Participants are responsible for ensuring that all required health screenings are completed by the site's deadline to avoid delays in program participation
Benefits
Eligible for monthly benefits reimbursement of up to $600 (participant cost only). Some restrictions apply.
Internet Stipend $35/month for 44 weeks
