Responsibilities
Review and analyze inpatient and outpatient medical records for accurate coding
Assign ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes in compliance with regulations
Utilize EPIC and 3M coding systems effectively
Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Specialists (CDS) to clarify documentation and ensure coding accuracy
Ensure compliance with AHIMA, CMS, and HIPAA guidelines
Identify and resolve coding discrepancies
Support audits and quality improvement initiatives
Maintain accurate documentation and meet productivity standards
Qualification
Required
CCS certification (required)
Minimum of 5 years of professional medical coding experience
Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding guidelines
ED (Emergency Department) Coding Experience -- 4 Years required in Recent
Hands-on experience with EPIC and 3M systems – 4 Years required in Recent
Proven inpatient coding experience (outpatient experience strongly preferred)
High School Diploma or GED required
Preferred
