Quality Engineer II
BAE Systems, Inc. is an international defense, aerospace and security company that is seeking a Quality Engineer II to perform quality assurance tasks in their Tactical Solutions business unit. Responsibilities
Work as part of a team during all phases of the program lifecycle, supporting execution activities under general guidance, including:
Participating in program execution activities including manufacturing build documentation reviews, testing, problem reporting and resolution
Participating in resolving routine quality issues, documenting findings and contributing to the reduction of reoccurring issues
Participating in process improvement activities
Support Statistical Process Control (SPC) activities, including:
Monitoring and analyzing process data to identify trends and areas for improvement
Implementing and maintaining control charts and other SPC tools
Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements, including:
Reviewing and verifying documentation for first article production parts
Conducting inspections and testing to validate conformance to specifications
Documenting and reporting results to ensure records are accurate and up-to-date
Develop and maintain Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation, including:
Coordinating with suppliers and internal stakeholders to gather required documentation
Reviewing and verifying documentation for accuracy and completeness
Ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements
Ensure compliance with all relevant quality regulations, standards, and industry certifications, including:
AS9100, ISO 9001, and other applicable standards
Collaborating with quality teams to implement and maintain compliance programs
Participating in audits and assessments to ensure ongoing compliance
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment
Perform other duties as necessary
Qualification
Required
BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 2 or more years related experience
Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in and contribute to a cross-functional team environment
A demonstrated ability to learn aerospace and defense industry and government specifications and standards and the requirements contained therein that guide the design, build, and test of hardware
A demonstrated ability to learn Quality Engineering (QE) principles, tools, methods, and standards
Must be willing to take initiative, be able to complete tasks in a timely manner, and have good time management and organizational skills
A DoD Interim Secret clearance will be required to start work and required to be maintained to continue work
