Senior Principle Engineer, Design Engineering (Onsite)

This role involves leading the design, development, and certification of complex engine nacelle structures and systems while providing technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.

Responsibilities

Lead conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design activities for engine nacelle structures
Develop and validate 3D models, 2D drawings, and product definitions in accordance with ASME Y14 standards
Conduct trade studies, tolerance analyses, and producibility assessments to optimize design solutions
Provide technical support for product line operations and field‑reported issues
Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCCA) and corrective action investigations for design and manufacturability concerns
Communicate status, risks, and mitigation plans across engineering, operations, and leadership teams
Support qualification, verification, and certification efforts throughout the program lifecycle
Lead major design reviews, including PDR and CDR, and resolve technical issues to maintain program progress
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical development within the team
Develop and maintain metrics and visual management tools to track and ensure timely completion of design tasks

Required

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum of 7 years of experience
Experience in design and manufacturing support
Experience with GD&T, engineering drawings, and CAD models
Experience using CATIA V5 CAD System

Preferred

Experience with composites and metallic components/assembly design and manufacturing
Familiarity with Team-Center/Enovia PLM System
