Responsibilities
Directing and flowing component orders through assigned work centers to meet defined delivery dates
Determining equipment and people resources required to meet production requirements and assigning/directing resources as needed to meet delivery deadlines
Knowing the status of each order within their assigned area
Assessing machinists' training needs within their work center's scope
Interpreting technical prints
Providing part quotations from technical drawings, including estimated program, set-up, cycle labor, material size, and machine used
Using expert knowledge of CNC machine G&M codes and troubleshooting skills to identify and edit program improvements
Directing and coaching team members on order output, timeliness, and quality and assigning work orders
Effectively utilizing team members to complete repair orders promptly and to the highest quality standards
Assessing Team Members' Skills To Determine Training Requirements
Training new and existing machinists as needed and contributing to the performance evaluation
Determining equipment to be used in the manufacturing of parts, creating programming, completing machine setup, CNC setup, and operating the machine
Evaluating job setup, troubleshooting issues, and implementing corrective action as necessary to produce component parts to drawing specifications
Qualification
Required
High school graduate/GED
Knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel
Ability to diligently run multi-axis and multi-tasking programs
Proficiency with typical precision measurement tools such as dial indicators, bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other common inspection tools
Basic knowledge of cutting tools, as well as speeds and feeds for each, regardless of material type
Good verbal and written communication skills
Desire to work collaboratively across several teams as needed to complete projects requiring multiple disciplines
Vocational/Technical degree Work experience accepted in lieu of a degree
5 years of Machining experience in addition to a Vocational/Technical degree or 8+ years of Machining experience instead of a degree
