Summer Youth Arts Program Manager

Mother Brook Arts & Community Center (MBACC) is seeking a seasonal Summer Youth Arts Program Manager. The Program Manager will oversee the daily operations of a youth arts program for ages 7-12, ensuring a safe and engaging experience while managing communications with families and instructors.

Responsibilities

Serve as day-to-day, onsite manager for the Summer Youth Arts Program
Act as the primary liaison with parents and caregivers before, during and after weekly program sessions
Manage program communications, including sending reminders, schedules and updates via email
Collect and track required documentation from instructors, including CORI forms
Coordinate internal communications with the Ceramics Program Director and Executive Director
Order, organize and maintain program supplies and materials
Support and supervise teaching artists and instructors as needed
Plan, lead and facilitate age-appropriate arts and crafts activities for youth ages 7-12 during select blocks of the day
Assist instructors in the classroom and step in to lead activities as needed
Ensure participant safety and adherence to MBACC policies
Assist with weekly transitions, attendance tracking and end-of-programming wrap-up

Required

Applicants must be 21+
Experience working with children is required
Experience leading arts and crafts or visual arts activities is required
Availability during weekday daytime hours between 8:30am and 3:30pm throughout the program period is essential
Comfort with working with the general public
Ability to handle ambiguous situations
Working with minimal oversight are necessary attributes

Preferred

At least 2-years of experience in program management, camp administration, education or hospitality
A strong background in the arts
Demonstrated experience leading arts and crafts activities for children
Individuals with backgrounds in the arts, education, youth programming, or community-based work are strongly encouraged to apply
