Stroke Program Coordinator - RN

The role involves coordinating and facilitating the Stroke Program, maintaining clinical knowledge, and ensuring compliance with stroke protocols to improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
Facilitate the linkage between strategic business lines and provision of an effective and efficient Stroke Program
Maintain current knowledge of clinical practice in care of stroke patients
Review implementation of stroke order protocols and follows up as needed to ensure compliance
Utilize current research and evidence-based standards of practice to develop, analyze and coordinate a comprehensive plan of patient education activities, including goals assessment, planning, implementation, needed resources and evaluation methods to support improved patient outcomes
Collect date and assist in the implementation of practice changes as needed, participates in the analysis of data
Coordinates and facilitates provision of educational opportunities for staff, physicians, patients, external providers of care including EMS, and the community
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
3 years of experience in MedSurg, Emergency or Critical Care required
RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
NIHSS – National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification 60 Days required
Preferred
Master's Degree in Nursing preferred
3 years of experience in Critical Care experience preferred
SCRN – Stroke Certified Registered Nurse upon hire preferred
