Responsibilities
Assists in preparation of project estimates
Coordinates, as directed, with project management, the startup related engineering, construction, and client activities as an office assignment or during startup, operations, maintenance or testing at the jobsite
Directs the preparation of portions of or assists in the preparation of operations manuals
Conducts execution planning for assigned scope through scoping, plans, procedures, schedules, and budgets
Sets up progress reporting framework for scope area, and reviews on an ongoing basis with team, taking proactive course corrections as necessary
Develops and evaluates plans and criteria within the discipline or specialty for a variety of project activities
Interprets new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria and performance data relating to the specialty
Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of assigned engineers, estimates staffing needs, schedules, and assigns work to meet completion dates
Provides technical advice and counsel on specific assignments by providing the resolution of technical questions arising in the area of specialty
Preparation of system testing and turnover documentation
Provides assistance to the training group on the project in the development of training program material intended for classroom and OJT training of client personnel
Prepares system preoperational test procedures for assigned systems. Completes testing per Bechtel Standard Test and Commissioning Procedures (STCP) and Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPP), pre-op procedures and other specific procedures which may be required to be prepared in this position
Prepares preventative maintenance procedures and schedules for maintaining equipment once it has been commissioned
Applies knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, and design criteria pertinent to I&C systems, to development of test plans and procedures
Performs I&C work in accordance with corporate procedures and guidance
Uses well developed interpersonal skills to interact closely and frequently with client management and operations and maintenance personnel
Qualification
Required
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Relevant experience in delivering large-scale combined cycle power projects
Broad working knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and facilities' operations criteria pertinent to the activities supervised
Extensive knowledge of administrative practices including cost and scheduling
Ability to work effectively in leading in a team environment, motivating and supporting others
Demonstrated expert understanding of CSU core processes and procedures
Technical and practical comprehension of engineering, procurement, and construction functions and general business techniques
Excellent skill in oral and written communication with demonstrated skill to present CSU information to management and client
Familiar with OEMs' turbine controls, vibration monitoring, safety systems, and DCS
Proficiency in control valve calibration and familiarity with various communication protocols
Proficient in loop checking and validation
Preferred
Knowledge and experience with commissioning behind the meter power generation is preferred
Integration of power facilities in a data centre environment is preferred
