Responsibilities

Teach the required work load credits per semester as assigned
Actively participate in division and university related activities and committees, the accreditation process, curriculum development, and scholarship (teaching, grant writing, research, publishing, and community service)
Adhere to duties as described in the Faculty Handbook
Develop a professional development plan and demonstrate a trajectory that promotes scholarship, community service and life-long learning
Remain current in the latest industry practices, standards, equipment, research, and technology
Any other Duties as assigned by the Deans of the School of Nursing and Health Professions
Serve as the Public Health Program Coordinator
Provide strategic direction and operational oversight for the Public Health academic programs, ensuring alignment with university goals and public health workforce needs
Coordinate activities across faculty, staff, students, and community partners to ensure smooth program operations
Oversee program evaluation, continuous quality improvement, and reporting to university committees and external stakeholders
Develop, manage, and monitor the program budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources
Lead program accreditation efforts, including research, planning, and documentation preparation for accreditation (e.g., CEPH)
Development of policies and procedures for effectively managing all components of the program and to ensure fair, equitable and considerate treatment of prospective and enrolled students (such as program admission, retention and completion policies)
Maintenance of complaints about the program received from students or others, including disposition of the complaint
Lead curriculum review, revision, and implementation, including updating PLOs, CLOs, and course sequencing
Submit program changes and curriculum proposals to the Curriculum Committee, FAAW Committee, and Academic Counsel
Update degree requirements, minors, and course information per university guidelines
Build and update BSPH courses in Canvas to ensure consistent and high-quality instructional design
Coordinate FLEX program planning, orientation, and faculty hiring for FLEX courses
Meet regularly with the Advising and Admissions teams to align program curriculum with recruitment, retention, and student success needs
Plan and lead Public Health faculty meetings and advisory board meetings regarding program initiatives, curriculum changes, and student outcomes
Hire, interview, and onboard new Public Health faculty (including FLEX and adjunct faculty)
Train faculty on university systems (e.g., STELLIC) and program expectations
Mentor new BSPH faculty to ensure instructional quality and successful integration into the program
Provide ongoing faculty support, including course-related concerns, student issues, and curriculum implementation guidance
Ensure textbooks are ordered each term, coordinating with the bookstore to resolve any missing orders
Serve as an faculty advisor to Public Health students, offering guidance on course planning, degree progression, and academic success
Advise students on program expectations and practicum preparation
Manage student concerns collaboratively with clinical partners (i.e., clinical practicum)
Collaborate with Admissions and support student recruitment and retention through info sessions, orientation events, and outreach activities
Plan and implement marketing strategies for the BSPH programs, including website updates and promotional materials
Represent the program at regional and national public health conferences and outreach events to promote the BSPH programs and strengthen partnerships
Establish and maintain strong partnerships with local public health organizations, community health centers, and healthcare agencies
Serve as a liaison between the university and community partners to promote reciprocity and community-engaged learning
Identify and secure practicum, internship, and service-learning opportunities for BSPH students
Develop and implement evaluation systems to assess program effectiveness, student outcomes, and curriculum impact
Collect, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to guide program improvements
Prepare annual program reports, assessment updates, and stakeholder communications
Present findings to university leadership, accreditation bodies, and community partners as needed
Ensure the Public Health programs comply with all applicable laws, accreditation standards, university policies, and ethical guidelines
Maintain awareness of emerging public health regulations and best practices; integrate updates into program activities
Serve as a resource for faculty, students, and staff regarding public health standards, community health guidelines, and program expectations
Maintain current knowledge of public health education, accreditation standards, and workforce trends
Provide training to faculty, staff, and student assistants to enhance program quality and operational efficiency
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within the program

Required

Master's degree in Public Health or related field
Experience in academic program coordination, public health education, or higher education leadership
The ability to create and facilitate a meaningful learning environment and demonstrate a willingness to teach a variety of nutrition and public health related courses in diverse educational settings
Higher education teaching experience in classroom, online, and/or clinical settings
Demonstrate the potential for scholarly productivity
Experience working with culturally and ethnically diverse students
Proficient in the use of technology to support both in class and online learning environments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body at all levels of the university
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software, learning management systems (e.g. Canvas)
Ability to prioritize work and resources
Ability to meet deadlines
High integrity and ethical standards
Knowledge of accreditation processes (e.g., CEPH or CPH-related standards)
Experience building community partnerships and supervising faculty
Duties involve light work in an office and community setting and requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines
Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills
Must have finger dexterity
Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand
This is a part time, exempt position. Twenty hours per week (M-F) will be the general rule. However, depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required
Must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends and a varying schedule
Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor
Observes all safety and health regulations and works in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of the University. Reports unsafe acts/conditions and injuries in a timely and proper manner
The employee is expected to adhere to all University policies while employed
