Responsibilities

Provide assessment, troubleshooting, and support for connectivity (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi/VPN/VLANs) related issues and projects
Administer and maintain on-premise network infrastructure across all locations, including Dell switching, Fortinet and SonicWall security appliances, and wireless networking
Coordinate with Indian Health Services (IHS) on managed WAN connections, including troubleshooting, escalation, and change coordination
Perform network monitoring and performance reviews; analyze trends and implement changes to ensure the best throughput and reliability for on-premise applications
Ensure that network-related hardware is assessed on a regular basis to keep equipment firmware up to date and to review end-of-life/support cycles
Recommend replacement hardware that fits MACT’s network infrastructure and long-term goals; assist with standards, vendor evaluation, and implementation planning
Maintain network inventory and documentation (diagrams, device lists, IP ranges, VLANs, and circuit/provider information)
Manage backups and recovery of network device configurations. Perform quarterly testing of backups and disaster recovery plans and document results
Perform bi-annual network security risk assessments and provide a report for the IT Director, including high, medium, and low threat concerns, remediation recommendations, and a resolution schedule. Maintain remediation tracking and provide status updates for the IT Director's review
Recommend, plan, and implement a secure remote-access VPN solution that fits MACT’s network and security environment, including Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) MFA, authentication, and access controls. Support site-to-site VPN connectivity as needed
On an as-needed basis, provide assistance and support to the department’s help desk and IT Specialists, including troubleshooting technical issues, assisting with the installation of healthcare-related equipment, deployment of workstations, and implementation of new hardware

Required

Technical Certification or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
3-5+ years of experience in a Network Administrator (or similar) role, preferably supporting a multi-site environment; healthcare experience is a plus
Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, and switching (VLANs, STP, link aggregation), and core network services (DNS, DHCP, and IP addressing)
Experience supporting multi-site connectivity and coordinating with managed service providers for WAN circuits and escalations (12 WAN connections managed by IHS)
Familiarity with enterprise switching (Dell preferred), wireless networking, and standard network documentation practices (diagrams, device lists, IP ranges)
Must pass Occupational Health Screening
Must possess a valid form of identification as listed on the U.S. Department of Justice I-9 form, verified using the E Verify system
Clean DMV driving record and MACT auto insurance driving eligibility (determined by auto insurance carrier)
The position requires an awareness and keen appreciation of American Indian traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs, and the ability at all times to meet and deal effectively in contacts with Indian health organizations, which requires tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness, and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature

Preferred

Relevant networking certifications are strongly preferred (e.g., Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Security+, Fortinet NSE, SonicWall certifications, or equivalent)
