Mid, Senior LevelGupta & Associates, Inc. (GAI) is seeking a motivated Electrical and/or I&C/SCADA Engineer (PE) to support design, coordination, and delivery of power, instrumentation, control, and SCADA systems for municipal and industrial infrastructure projects. This role blends technical engineering, QA/QC leadership, cross‑discipline coordination, and construction/commissioning support.

Responsibilities
Lead electrical design for MV/LV distribution systems , including switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, transformers, standby generators, ATS equipment, grounding systems, and lighting
Develop and review:
One‑line diagrams
Load flow and voltage drop calculations
Short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies
Equipment schedules and specifications
Electrical design narratives and technical reports
Coordinate electrical interfaces with I&C/SCADA, mechanical/process, and civil teams to deliver integrated solutions
Apply GAI standards, templates, and QA/QC review gates to minimize rework and field issues
Support construction and commissioning efforts, including:
Submittal reviews
RFIs
Site visits and field clarifications
Startup and functional testing support
Mentor and coach engineers, EITs, and CAD designers; provide technical training when needed
Lead development of control philosophies , control narratives , I/O lists, instrument specifications, P&ID inputs, and SCADA architecture documentation
Define PLC and SCADA system design approaches, including:
Panel architecture and layouts
Remote I/O strategy
Network segmentation and topology
Fiber/radio communications paths
Server/VM environment requirements
Review SCADA and HMI design standards, alarm philosophy, trending requirements, and historian integration to ensure consistent, maintainable systems
Coordinate with client IT/OT teams on cybersecurity design considerations such as:
Logical segmentation
Access control concepts
Network boundary requirements
Provide support during FAT/SAT activities and field commissioning
Qualification
Required
B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Controls, or related discipline)
Experience with electrical power systems, instrumentation, PLC/SCADA design, and/or industrial networking
Proficiency or familiarity with Bluebeam
Proficiency or familiarity with SKM (or equivalent power system modeling tools)
Proficiency or familiarity with Microsoft 365
Proficiency or familiarity with Client CAD standards
Proficiency or familiarity with Industrial control system concepts (PLC, SCADA, HMI, networking)
Strong client communication and cross-discipline coordination skills
Preferred
Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license required or preferred depending on sealing needs
