Responsibilities
Architect, deploy, and optimize Cisco Nexus switches within a High-Performance Computing (HPC) environment, ensuring low latency and high throughput
Full lifecycle management of Cisco NextGen Firewalls (NGFW). You must be proficient in configuring security policies, routing, and VLAN segmentation
Lead the setup and maintenance of VPN connections (Site-to-Site and Remote Access) on Cisco platforms
Oversee the provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting of network circuits and ISP handoffs
Act as a subject matter expert for hybrid-cloud networking, supporting connectivity between on-premise hardware and AWS/GCP (Direct Connect/Cloud Interconnect)
Administer and scale VMware clusters running on Dell VxRail hyperconverged infrastructure
Support high-performance storage environments, specifically VAST Data and Dell Isilon, ensuring data availability for intensive workloads
Provide tier-3 support for Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu/CentOS) and Active Directory environments
Manage Cisco Meraki wireless and edge networking for corporate office connectivity
Ensure the integrity of the environment through rigorous backup schedules and disaster recovery testing
Perform hardware installations (Rack & Stack), cable management, and physical troubleshooting in Colocation (Colo) and Data Center environments
Qualification
Required
5–8+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering and infrastructure
Advanced knowledge of Cisco Nexus (NX-OS) and Cisco NextGen Firewalls
Deep understanding of BGP, OSPF, VLANs, LACP, and VPN protocols (IPsec/SSL), WAN technologies
Proven experience with Dell server hardware and VxRail
Exposure to high-performance file systems (VAST, Isilon)
Ability to work on-site at data centers and office/labs, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working within server racks
Preferred
Experience with AWS (VPC, Transit Gateway) or GCP (Cloud Router)
CCNP (Data Center/Security), VCP (VMware Certified Professional), or AWS Solutions Architect
Prior experience working in R&D, scientific, or lab environments
Experience with Python, Ansible, or Terraform for infrastructure-as-code
