Intern (Administration)
The Inland Empire Utilities Agency is seeking interns to gain valuable experience in public works administration. The role involves performing administrative tasks, data analysis, and supporting various projects while fostering teamwork and personal growth.

Responsibilities
Perform a full array of duties including professional administrative work
Perform data analysis, data visualization, and data processing
Performs administrative research and statistical or financial analysis
Place orders for materials and office supplies
May conduct records research, retrieval of documents, and assist with administrative functions for capital improvement projects
Data input of spreadsheets and databases
Create and update spreadsheets with graphs, pivot tables, and charts
Perform other related duties as required
Qualification
Required
Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent
Graduation or current enrollment in undergraduate or graduate studies in an accredited college or university with major course work in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Economics, Operations Management, Purchasing, Materials Management or closely a related field
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Great time management skills
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Willingness to learn and be flexible
Advanced computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to assist with ad hoc projects as required in a fast paced and changing environment
A valid class 'C' California driver's license
Basic principles and practices of public agency purchasing
Principles and procedures of research, basic statistics, methodology and administrative analysis
Basic technical and administrative practices and procedures of assigned area
Record keeping practices and procedures related to a purchasing function
Principles of composition, basic report preparation and writing
Graphic and tabular presentation of data
Modern office practices and equipment including a computer and applicable software
Record-keeping and filing practices and procedures
Proper English, spelling and grammar
Ability to gather, organize, interpret and analyze information and data
Ability to prepare and interpret tables, charts, graphs and flow charts
Ability to organize, set priorities and exercise sound judgment within areas of responsibility
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate reports, correspondence and other written materials
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those encountered in the course of work
Ability to operate office equipment including a computer and applicable software
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to formulate options and make recommendations
Preferred
Prior related professional work experience
Some knowledge of Microsoft Access
