Responsibilities
Utilizing electrical wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics and technical publications, determines extent and type of preventative and/or repair maintenance required
Connects power sources, and using cockpit controls, gauges and additional precision instruments, performs operational and functional checks of inflight refueling, single point refueling and fuel transfer systems and related valves, pumps, switches, selectors, and control devices
Performs leak check of aircraft fuel systems by visual inspection or by removal of panels and dye tracing fuel leaks
Diagnoses and overhauls fuel accessories by disassembling, cleaning, and examining parts for corrosion, scratches, cracks or other damage
Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations such as ORI, IG, and DE inspections, mobility, and command support exercises
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must hold the grade of E-4 thru E-5
Must have at least 18 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following: Experience which provided a knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles
Experience in fabricating fuel, oil and vacuum hose lines
Experience in servicing, maintaining, disassembling assembling, repairing and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and overhauling pneudraulic accessories by disassembling, cleaning part and examining parts
Experience in diagnosing trouble and determining remedies
Experience in repairing, rebuilding and overhauling major systems of ground equipment and pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Experience in mechanical repairs using hand tools and test equipment
Experience that demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications and publications
Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position
This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position
May be required to successfully complete a trial period
Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory
Membership in the Colorado Air National Guard or eligible to transfer

For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment
To be eligible for a relocation incentive, the employee must have an appraisal from the prior with that's a 3 or higher
Relocation Incentive is available for only current federal employees. Will need a current appraisal in good standing
Recruitment Incentive is for employees newly appointed to a position or following a break in service of at least 90 days
