Communications Manager, Global Corporate Issues and Media Relations

Responsibilities

Manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges with high judgment and professionalism
Ability to be precise under tight deadlines and to prioritize and manage multiple situations simultaneously
Effectively represent Amazon as an on-the-record spokesperson
Ability to work with reporters to correct and clarify breaking news stories
Write, develop, and manage approvals of external communications materials dealing with sensitive and timely topics
Participate in multi-stakeholder emergency response meetings to provide insight and guidance from an external communications point-of-view

Required

Bachelor's degree
7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
Experience in media relations and issues management

Preferred

Experience in managing issues and crisis situations for major retailer, package delivery brand, or manufacturing/plant/warehouse facility
Experience gaining alignment with cross-functional teams
Skill in developing creative, effective approaches to difficult communications challenges to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
