Responsibilities
Responsible for designing, developing, testing, operating and maintaining products
Takes full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code
Consistently creates optimal design adhering to architectural best practices; considers scalability, reliability and performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designs
Performs analysis on failures, propose design changes, and encourage operational improvements
Makes sound design/coding decisions keeping customer experience in the forefront
Takes feedback from code review and apply changes to meet standards
Conducts code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures
Accountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices
Exhibits relentless focus in software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
Two to three years of relevant experience
Responsible for designing, developing, testing, operating and maintaining products
Takes full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code
Consistently creates optimal design adhering to architectural best practices; considers scalability, reliability and performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designs
Performs analysis on failures, propose design changes, and encourage operational improvements
Makes sound design/coding decisions keeping customer experience in the forefront
Takes feedback from code review and apply changes to meet standards
Conducts code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures
Accountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices
Exhibits relentless focus in software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards
Preferred
using tools such as Debug Tool or equivalent
Solid understanding of mainframe fundamentals, including JCL, VSAM, DB2/SQL, batch processing, file handling, and IBM z/OS environments
Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries for DB2, including use of SPUFI
Familiarity with IDz (IBM Developer for z/OS) for editing, analyzing, debugging, and managing mainframe source code (supported by extensive IDz training materials found in internal documentation)
Knowledge of GitLab for version control, branching, code reviews, and CI/CD processes in mainframe DevOps pipelines (reinforced by multiple internal GitLab onboarding and usage guides)
Good understanding of SDLC
Ability to communicate processes and results to both technical and non-technical groups
Effective problem solving and analytical skills
Be available to provide production support
