Responsibilities

Applies fundamental engineering principles, including performing calculations, conducting analyses, and utilizing appropriate engineering tools
Communicates effectively with stakeholders by clearly conveying information, asking relevant questions, and confirming mutual understanding
Demonstrates strong project management skills, coordinating test resources, design teams, and supplier activities to meet program objectives
Develops technical requirements and ensures product designs satisfy performance, quality, timing, cost, and regulatory targets
Collaborates with cross‑functional teams to design, develop, and deliver powertrain components and systems from concept through production
Maintains expertise in advanced design methods, analytical tools, materials, and testing techniques for powertrain performance products
Diagnoses and resolves complex technical issues by applying innovative thinking and rigorous analytical methodologies
Delivers optimized design solutions that balance performance, quality, weight, cost, and program timing
Leads and supports DFMEAs and DVP&Rs to ensure robust design and validation processes
Analyzes test data and drives resolution of validation findings across both internal and supplier-led testing activities
Communicates project status, risks, key metrics, and recommendations clearly to cross‑functional partners and leadership
Willing to travel as required throughout the project lifecycle

Required

Bachelor's Degree Required
Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or a related technical field
Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience
Experience in the fundamentals of (ICE) internal combustion engine and powertrain operation
Solid understanding of ICE performance, durability and emissions tradeoffs
Demonstrated the ability to develop and follow a test plan to ensure project requirements are met
Understanding of data acquisition systems and techniques through successful execution of projects
Understanding of design and release controls as well as PPAP

Preferred

Strong knowledge in the fundamentals of internal combustion engines
Knowledge and experience of H-D and/or aftermarket motorcycle tuning products
Motorcycle riding enthusiast
