Facilities Project Manager

Responsibilities
Leading construction and renovation projects for Steelcase showrooms and facilities from concept through post-occupancy, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and timelines
Coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to develop drawings, estimates, schedules, bid packages, and project documentation
Managing project budgets, cost estimates, bid reviews, purchase orders, and financial forecasting while maintaining strong cost controls on multi-million-dollar projects
Navigating diverse stakeholder needs and translating feedback from leaders, users, and cross-functional teams into actionable project decisions
Overseeing on-site activities during key project phases, including site walks, vendor coordination, construction milestones, and move-management logistics across North America
Creating clear, compelling presentations, schedules, and project updates for executive-level audiences using tools like PowerPoint, SmartSheet, and Excel
Standardizing processes, tools, and templates to improve project delivery efficiency across the Facilities & Real Estate organization
Qualification
Required
Ability to read construction drawings and as‑builts
Financial experience with estimating, budgets, bid reviews, and contracts
Strong communication skills across skilled trades and senior leaders
Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, SmartSheet, and similar tools
Ability to travel across North America based on planned project needs
5+ years direct experience
Construction, facilities, interior design, engineering, or similar relevant project experience
Associate degree in a technical or related field. Or 5+ years direct experience in the construction, facilities, design, engineering or similar field
Understanding of the built environment, including interior finishes, furniture and fixtures (FF&E), building systems, and core construction means and methods
Preferred
Bringing 3–7 years of experience in construction/facilities project management
Applying advanced construction knowledge including estimating, bid tabs, and change orders
Demonstrating strong stakeholder management skills
Using tools such as Bluebeam, SmartSheet, CAD viewers, or other construction-related platforms
Building and maintaining relationships with contractors, architects, engineers, and vendors
Contributing to process improvement through tools, templates, and workflows
