Responsibilities
Analyze, configure, and optimize enterprise servers, workstations, and Internet systems, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable operations
Monitor and test systems and web applications to ensure continuous availability and performance
Perform system modeling, systems analysis, and capacity planning to integrate hardware and software effectively
May supervise and mentor computer user support specialists and computer network support specialists
Administer security measures in accordance with DoD and organizational policies
Maintain a robust library of computer system images for functions commonly used across the squadron, allowing rapid builds of new systems, as requirements dictate
Develop and manage automated software-license tracking and compliance solutions
Assist Help Desk in time of excessive calls or staff shortages
Ensure that versions/service packs for all software are kept up to date
Provide server administration services in accordance with DoD regulations and coordinate as necessary with external Information Assurance offices
General understanding of multiple operating systems to include Windows and Linux variants
Implement data-backup and recovery strategies to prevent data loss and ensure continuity
Interface regularly with customers to address issues and ensure compliance with pertinent regulations related to IT
Support hardware and software lifecycle management, including submission and tracking of Computer System Requirements Documents (CSRDs)
Qualification
Required
Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a CI Polygraph
5-9 years of experience required
Current IAT level II Certification required
Experience supporting computer systems, networks and servers up to the TS/SCI level (JWICS)
Be able to access and configure Servers
Experience with Linux and Windows
US Citizenship is required
Preferred
BS Degree desired
Knowledgeable in Virtualization, and Server background, Knowledge in VMWare, Linux, MS Server, SQL, Patching and STIG'ing
Must be willing to work a second shift with the hours of Monday through Thursday 2:30 PM to 1:00 AM
