Responsibilities
Provide expert neonatal nursing care in a Level III Trauma acute care hospital specializing in nursery services
Deliver comprehensive care from delivery through discharge in a Level 1 and 2 nursery setting, including supporting infants requiring phototherapy, antibiotics, opioid withdrawal protocols, and bubble CPAP
Work three 12-hour night shifts (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.) with a ratio of 1 nurse to 6 patients, every other weekend scheduled
Float within the womens area as needed to ensure continuity of care across related units
Support unit leadership alongside direct patient care in a fast-paced environment that uses Epic charting
Qualification
Required
Nursing degree
Active registered nurse (RN) license
Minimum 1+ years RN experience
Minimum 2 years of neonatal nursing experience in Level 1 and 2 nurseries
Current SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license verified prior to starting
BLS and NRP certifications required
Proven charge nurse leadership skills
Comfortable managing neonatal care from delivery to discharge
Ability to handle Level 2 interventions such as phototherapy, antibiotics, opioid withdrawal, and bubble CPAP
Preferred
STABLE certification highly preferred
