Associate Director Systems Architect (Onsite)

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership to multidisciplined teams, leading effective working sessions and trade studies, cultivating and reinforcing group values, and identifying, analyzing and correcting technical problems
Serve as the primary technology focal point for internal and external stakeholders
Define, establish, and maintain complex system of systems architectures and designs
Lead engineering teams to understand, analyze, and develop the models, requirements, and designs using enterprise standard tools, processes, and industry best practices
Own the identification, assessment, and management of technical risks and opportunities, including development and execution of execution plans
Lead technical proposal preparation and serve as a subject matter expert in non-advocate, internal, and customer reviews
Collaborate with stakeholders to capture, analyze, decompose, derive, and trace system requirements
Ability to contribute as an individual contributor when necessary
Oversee development and verification of system and subsystem test plans and procedures
Oversee the Design, develop, and model complex systems and sub-systems
Oversee the building advanced SysML models for activities, states, block diagrams, and use cases
Ensure JIRA is used to decompose epics and features into user stories with clear acceptance criteria
Oversee the plan and execute project-level work to meet schedules, costs, and performance goals
Manage technical risks by evaluating design aspects and requirements
Engage in classified lab environments to apply your expertise hands-on. (On-site presence required.)
Travel occasionally to support program requirements

Required

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain Top Secret after start
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience leading large, multidisciplinary systems engineering teams
Proven experience eliciting customer needs, developing concepts of operations (CONOPS), and deriving, allocating, and tracing system and subsystem requirements
Advanced proficiency of Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) concepts and tools including in developing and maintaining complex SysML models, including developing activity, state, block diagrams, use cases, etc
Experience with radio communication systems such as VLF, UHF, VHF, Satcom, or related

Preferred

Advanced proficiency with MBSE tools like MagicDraw CAMEO, Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect
Working knowledge of cost, schedule, and technical estimation tools(e.g., SEER products)
Experience conducting root cause analysis and corrective and preventative actions
Technical risk & opportunity management, interface definition and control
Agile development experience in a leadership role such as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, or other Agile leadership roles
Working knowledge of Project Management, Control Account Management (CAM), and earned value
Demonstrated competence in peer review processes, configuration, and change management
Understanding of military concepts of operations or radio performance standards
Experience leading technical teams using collaboration and planning tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, and Confluence
Experience or exposure to other related disciplines such as project engineering, human factors, system safety, reliability & maintainability, and cybersecurity
Experience working in an Agile development environment, being part of a highly integrated team working closely with SW, Integration and Verification teams
Experience with parametric bid estimation tools such as SEER
