InternWelty Energy is a professional services company specializing in program and project management, transmission line engineering, substation engineering, and construction oversight. They are looking for a Substation Engineering Intern to assist with Electrical Substation design projects and support the project team throughout various phases of the project.
Utilities
Responsibilities
Help to identify clearance points on switching systems
Learn how to identify substation and transmission equipment
Support the project team with safety moments and capture meeting minutes
Receive a Fire-Resistant clothing allowance and a boot allowance
Have the opportunity to visit Substation construction projects
Support assigned projects and/or teams from the estimating phase through project completion
Learn to review, redline, and markup Substation engineering plans
Receive OSHA 10 Training/Certification
Work with a buddy and coach for success within the internship and greater organization
Participate in Lunch and Learns
Work a schedule of 7 am to 4 pm CT, five days a week
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled and in good standing in an Electrical Engineering Bachelor's or Master's degree program from an ABET accredited school or university
3.0 GPA or greater
Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Effective organizational skills
Preferred
AutoCAD experience preferred
