Campus Operations Coordinator
The University of Maine’s College of Earth, Life, and Health is seeking a Campus Operations Coordinator to support activities related to campus residential life and research operations at the Darling Marine Center. The role involves serving as a primary contact for students and visitors, leading tours, and ensuring safety briefings while collaborating with staff to enhance the facility's experience.

Responsibilities
Support activities related to campus residential life, programmed learning activities, and research operations at the Darling Marine Center
Serve as a primary contact for UMaine students and visitors in campus residences
Lead tours for campus visitors
Provide safety briefings to campus students and visitors
Collaboratively work with DMC staff members to help foster positive and productive experiences for people utilizing the facility
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in an earth (e.g. marine, geoscience), life (e.g. biology, ecology), or environmental science, an engineering discipline (e.g. civil, environmental, mechanical), or related field
Work experience as a student assistant or professional staff in one or more of the following areas: scientific research, field measurements in coastal and marine environments, engineering applications in research facilities, ecological science, or higher education
Confidence working on measurements and instruction in outdoor field locations, including but not limited to rocky intertidal shorelines, woodland trails, mudflats, and aboard small water craft and vessels, exposed to sun, cold, insects, and outdoor weather year-round
Must have a valid driver's license, be eligible for approval as a University vehicle driver, and be comfortable driving passenger vans
Familiarity with college residence life oversight responsibilities and/or comparable leadership experience
Familiarity with research and education activities at coastal and marine field stations
Familiarity with Microsoft (e.g. Word, Excel) and Google applications
Must be able to lift up to 40lbs regularly and perform other manual and physically demanding tasks as required
Preferred
Management of wet laboratory infrastructure
Operation of seawater pump systems
Measurement and offshore sampling on research vessels
Professional diving certification (e.g. PADI Divemaster)
Small water craft operation/handling
Waterfront facility safety and operations
