Responsibilities
Conduct thorough nutritional assessments for adult patients, including those with diabetes, cardiovascular, renal, and gastrointestinal conditions
Manage care for ventilated patients requiring tube feeds, TPN, and aggressive nutritional therapy
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds with MDs, RNs, and other care team members to optimize patient outcomes
Utilize technology such as Meditech EMR and Volt messaging app effectively for patient documentation and communication
Float to other inpatient units such as MedSurg, Telemetry, or Progressive Care Unit when needed
Adhere to scheduled shifts with weekday hours and a rotating weekend day, maintaining flexibility for occasional holiday work
Qualification
Required
Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required
Required credentials: BLS certification, RDN or RD, and Montana Nutritionist License
Bachelors degree or advanced degree in nutrition or dietetics
Proficient in nutrition-focused physical examinations and malnutrition assessments
Experience working with feeding tubes and inpatient nutrition management is essential
Preferred
Minimum of 2 years inpatient acute care experience, including at least 1 year with critical/ICU patients
Preferred certification: Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC)
Prior exposure to Meditech EMR is highly favored
