Responsibilities
Assists with manual and unskilled labor in the cleaning, repair and maintenance of city swimming pool water quality systems and mechanical and plumbing equipment
Stocks dry chemicals and tests pool water chemical balance
Sets up pool deck amenities and assists with general and light cleaning of changing rooms, restrooms, pool decks and grounds
Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time
Qualification
Required
Working knowledge of construction and landscape techniques
Working knowledge of general cleaning and janitorial methods
Ability to utilize hand and power tools in a safe manner
Ability to perform general maintenance and repairs to park facilities
Ability to interact with the public and co-workers in a friendly and professional manner
Ability to display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of city employees, the general public and other organizations
Ability to communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance
Ability to complete assignments in a timely fashion
Ability to understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations
Ability to maintain prompt and regular attendance
Ability to perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation
Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record
Valid state-issued driver's license
Applicants must be able to pass City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation
