Life - Analytics Engineer

The Cincinnati Insurance Companies is seeking a Life Analytics Engineer to join their team. This role is responsible for leveraging project management and data management expertise to support existing databases and reporting solutions, as well as develop new solutions. The engineer will act as a bridge between IT developers, technical teams, and business stakeholders to deliver accurate, customer-focused solutions.

Responsibilities

Act as a primary data report source for the Cincinnati Life team
Serve as an intermediary between IT and the business unit for data development and enhancements
Design and support the development of data structures to meet business needs
Contribute to the maintenance and management of both internally and externally sourced datasets
Develop basic queries for data mining and writing reports
Examine reports to locate and resolve errors
Develop exhibits that include tables and graphs

Required

analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to pinpoint data trends and anomalies as well as comprehend technical and logical concepts
the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
the ability to responsibly work with data, incorporating the principles of balancing, governing, labeling and optimizing
the ability to communicate data and analyses by considering the data literacy of the audience and through traditional data visualization techniques and tools such as Microsoft® Power BI and Excel
basic understanding of statistical and predictive modeling concepts and uses
strong customer service skills, including active listening, empathy, adaptability and time management, along with excellent communication and presentation skills
critical thinking abilities
basic knowledge of or willingness to learn: financial and insurance key metrics, life insurance related concepts, data visualization techniques, proficiency in data analysis tools and software like SQL and SAS
a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
proven experience as a data analyst, analytics engineer, business analyst or a similar role

Preferred

data analytics-related certifications like the AIDA or Certified Analytics Professional
