Responsibilities

Maintain the Victim Services Program at assigned post location and serve as the main contact person for victims
Answer questions and concerns that victims may have, advising of issues arising in the case, and assisting in the investigation and prosecution of these cases in a victim-centered manner
Assess the needs of persons served, determine the types of referrals and services needed, and coordinate the provision of those referrals and services
Serve as a liaison with criminal justice professionals and community agency representatives in order to address the rights of and access to processes and services for crime victims
Handle sensitive issues and information in a confidential manner
Function in a bias free manner

Required

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major
Departmental Analyst 9: No specific type or amount of experience is required
Departmental Analyst 10: One year of professional experience
Departmental Analyst P11: Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service
This position requires passing a pre-employment screening, including passing a drug screen, criminal history background check, and a fingerprint check by the Michigan State Police
