Program Director, Strategy and Planning

Humane World for Animals is a global leader in animal advocacy and protection, seeking a Program Director, Strategy and Planning. The role involves driving the development and implementation of strategy and planning processes across the organization while collaborating with internal stakeholders to support impact and innovation.

Responsibilities

Lead development of global strategy and planning systems and processes, providing technical expertise and focusing on program planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning
Implement strategy and planning systems and processes by facilitating or project managing complex, multi-departmental, cross-geographic programmatic strategy and planning processes or projects
Lead discussions and decision-making on organizational priorities with the officers and executive staff consistent with the organization’s global strategy. Facilitate discussions regarding progress and impact with cross-departmental and cross-geographic internal stakeholder
Lead change management and build capacity across the organization to engage in strategy and planning processes, including program planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning
Support implementation of the global community building and belonging strategy in national or team level processes, strategies or plans
Oversee the work of vendors as it relates to strategy and planning projects
Perform other duties or responsibilities, as assigned

Required

Graduate degree in social impact strategy, planning, program evaluation, nonprofit or business administration or another related field, or equivalent work experience required
A minimum of six (6) years of experience in program development, strategy and planning, monitoring, and/or evaluation required
Demonstrated strategic thinking, critical thinking, and analytical skills, as well as the ability to handle complex situations and demonstrate sound judgment and problem-solving
Ability to lead and guide staff to meet department and organizational goals. Flexible, willing to learn, and anticipates the needs of self and staff
Ability to set a positive tone for employees through project management and meeting facilitation
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; high energy, self-motivated and proactive
Ability to manage issues requiring problem resolution and conflict management with excellent interpersonal and intervention skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Diplomatic and interpersonal skills to engage with international and domestic partners
Attention to detail and commitment to excellence, demonstrated by the delivery of quality and timely outcomes
Willing and able to travel
