Intellectual Property Litigation Paralegal/Patent Assistant

LHH is a national firm seeking an experienced IP Litigation Paralegal/Patent Assistant to join its Intellectual Property Litigation team. The role involves supporting attorneys with preparing, filing, and maintaining litigation documents, and assisting patent attorneys with patent prosecution.

Responsibilities

Prepare deposition summaries and initial drafts of pleadings; draft, proofread, send, file, and manage correspondence, memos, contracts, forms, and related documents
Prepare and file Information Disclosure Statements, U.S. patent applications, and responses to Office Actions
Schedule appointments with expert witnesses and prepare draft correspondence and supporting materials
Manage all scheduling, appointments, and contact lists
Conduct legal research, jury verdict research, and expert witness research, including cite checking and shepardizing
Prepare and mark exhibits for depositions and trial
Manage attorney dockets (in coordination with the docketing team) and assist with non-patent IP matters
Coordinate with foreign associates on non-U.S. patent matters
Communicate with USPTO personnel to resolve issues related to prosecution
Complete post-allowance tasks, pay issue fees, and close matters

Required

5+ years of Federal IP litigation and patent prosecution experience
Experience conducting searches in PACER and filing through Federal Court ECF
Thorough understanding of U.S. patent prosecution processes
Experience filing PCT applications
Strong understanding of litigation terminology and proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong project and case management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines
Exceptional research, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
