Responsibilities
Perform detailed electrical design for small to mid-scale projects, including:
Drawing mark-ups
Load calculations
Coordination studies
Short circuit and voltage drop calculations
Equipment specifications
Compliance with company standards and applicable codes
Conduct design reviews for large projects to ensure system compatibility, conformance, and constructability
Provide field inspection and on-site support for implementation of:
Electrical systems
Security systems
Fire alarm systems
Data/telecom systems
Instrumentation and control installations
Review electrical power, security, fire alarm, and instrumentation/control drawings
Identify, scope, and manage energy conservation projects
Troubleshoot power quality issues in support of the maintenance team and facilities partners
Lead project engineering and project management activities for electrical and select non-electrical projects
Provide technical support to the maintenance group for electrical-related operational issues
Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for utility bottlenecks and corrective action solutions
Support SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) teams with technical input for permit applications
Review and approve updates to site electrical drawings
Review and approve change records impacting validated electrical systems
Provide technical guidance and mentorship as needed
Support cross-functional collaboration across engineering, maintenance, and operations teams
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
Minimum 3 years of relevant electrical engineering experience
Strong knowledge of industrial standards, electrical codes, and construction practices
Experience with project engineering and project management processes
Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams
Ability to read and interpret ladder logic control drawings
Strong understanding of engineering principles and techniques
Knowledge of the full project lifecycle, including initiation, design, construction, commissioning and validation
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments
Ability to work effectively in self-directed settings with minimal supervision
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
Provide technical guidance and mentorship as needed
Support cross-functional collaboration across engineering, maintenance, and operations teams
EIT or PE registration is desirable
