Responsibilities

Support the design and development of mechanical systems and hardware
Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and design documents to ensure clarity and compliance
Apply GD&T standards in the creation and review of technical drawings
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, manufacturing personnel, and quality assurance
Assist in selecting materials and manufacturing methods for prototype and production builds
Provide engineering support during prototype and low-rate production phases
Participate in design reviews, test events, and system integration efforts
Create and maintain documentation including design packages, bills of materials, and test reports

Required

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Or a High School Diploma/GED with minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design and development (defense or related industry preferred) in lieu of degree
Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings required
In-depth understanding of GD&T and its application in design and manufacturing required
Experience with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo)
Familiarity with material properties, machining processes, and design for manufacturability
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Ability to travel up to 10%
