Responsibilities

Develop and execute a sales strategy to drive revenue growth across digital advertising, sponsorships, and brand partnerships, with an emphasis on local and regional accounts
Identify, prospect, and secure new clients across key local verticals, including Tier 2 automotive, casinos and gaming, real estate, hospitals and healthcare systems, legal services, and other local service-based businesses
Build and maintain strong relationships with local advertisers, agencies, and key regional stakeholders
Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing and editorial, to craft integrated, custom advertising solutions tailored to local market needs
Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, RFP responses, contract negotiations, and post-sale account management
Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipelines, and CRM data
Stay up to date on industry trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities to effectively advise clients and position California Post as a trusted local media partner

Required

Minimum of 5 years of advertising sales experience, preferably within media or digital news organizations
Demonstrated success selling to local or regional advertisers, ideally across verticals such as automotive, gaming, real estate, healthcare, or professional services
Proven ability to prospect, close deals, and consistently exceed revenue targets
Strong network of media and advertising contacts in the Los Angeles market
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail
Ability and willingness to travel as needed
