The Forklift Technician is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and inspection of industrial forklifts and material-handling equipment, supporting both scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.

Responsibilities
Perform scheduled PM services on forklifts and material-handling equipment
Inspect brakes, steering, hydraulics, mast assemblies, batteries, chargers, and safety systems
Conduct OSHA-compliant safety inspections
Complete accurate service documentation and inspection reports
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
Repair or replace motors, pumps, valves, cylinders, brakes, and steering components
Troubleshoot electrical systems including starters, alternators, sensors, and controllers
Service and maintain industrial batteries, chargers, and power systems
Respond to breakdowns and emergency service calls
Communicate repair findings, recommendations, and safety concerns to customers
Support on-call and after-hours service as required
Follow all Vital Electric Supply safety policies and procedures
Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites
Properly maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory
Identify equipment replacement or fleet optimization opportunities and communicate them internally
Qualification
Required
3+ years of forklift or material-handling equipment service experience
Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills
Experience servicing electric and IC forklifts
Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in warehouse and industrial environments
Preferred
OEM experience or training (Toyota, Hyster-Yale, Crown, Raymond, Jungheinrich, Clark, etc.)
Industrial battery and charger service experience
OSHA inspection certification or familiarity
Telematics or fleet management system experience
Military or heavy equipment maintenance background
