5+ years expIndex Search is seeking a Project Manager Lead who will provide leadership and oversight for a team of Project Managers while managing assigned projects. This role is responsible for project execution, financial performance, and operational excellence, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, while also maintaining P&L responsibility.

Responsibilities
Maintain overall P&L responsibility for all assigned projects and Project Managers
Lead, manage, and develop a team of Project Managers, driving productivity, efficiency, and professional growth
Actively manage assigned projects from initiation through closeout
Mentor and support Project Managers to achieve schedule, budget, and performance targets
Oversee customer communication, reporting, and project updates
Direct project financial management, including forecasting, cash flow, and internal projections
Lead project pre-mortem and risk review meetings
Oversee labor planning, staffing levels, and productivity performance
Ensure accurate task tracking, scheduling, and adherence to project milestones
Coordinate field communication related to safety, labor, and execution
Manage change orders, including pricing, documentation, and approvals
Oversee material buyouts, equipment rentals, and vendor coordination
Ensure proper project closeout, including documentation, service agreements, warranties, and spare parts
Support commissioning plans and service coordination activities
Lead post-project reviews in collaboration with Sales and Finance
Conduct or oversee site visits, customer walkthroughs, and punch list completion
Participate in job cost analysis to drive consistent project profitability
Provide leadership and oversight to project teams, subcontractors, and vendors
Deliver performance feedback, coaching, and development support as needed
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5 years of project management experience within refrigeration or mechanical contracting environments
Demonstrated experience leading project teams
Strong financial acumen with proven success managing project profitability
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously
Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% as required by project needs
Preferred
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
