Senior Program Manager - Atlassian Platform

Responsibilities
Provide Atlassian platform administration and solution design for our enterprise Atlassian Cloud environment, ensuring configurations are scalable, governed, and aligned to business needs
Consult with business stakeholders to understand strategies and requirements that enable teams to define, plan, and deliver world-class features, products and platforms. Then translate them into practical Atlassian configurations, templates, and usage patterns
Build robust automation and reporting using Automation for Jira, ScriptRunner (Groovy), REST APIs, Python, JQL, dashboards, and custom reports to improve data quality, reduce annual work, and provide clear delivery insights
Partner with Product, Engineering, Technical Program Managers and the Program Management Office to translate strategy and OKRs into executable delivery models using Jira Product Discovery, Advanced Roadmaps, and Atlassian Strategy Collection
Enable enterprise planning and portfolio visibility by designing solutions for portfolio road mapping, dependency and risk management, capacity planning, prioritization, and outcome tracking across teams and programs
Drive adoption of Jira Product Discovery (JPD) and Atlassian Strategy Collection by structuring ideas, opportunities, and outcomes; defining schemas for value versus effort, strategic alignment, and insights
Provide advanced troubleshooting and platform support, including root-cause analysis for complex issues, performance tuning, and guidance on best practices for large-scale usage
Facilitate workshops, training, and office hours to upskill teams, coach champions, and help stakeholders use Atlassian tools as decision-making and planning systems, not just tracking tools
Contribute to ongoing Atlassian platform governance and standardization initiatives, to proactively identify areas of operational improvement with the team, building solutions that are scalable cross-team
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience
Experienced Atlassian practitioner with 8+ years of experience in enterprise technology, consulting, or delivery roles, including 8+ years administering Jira and Confluence in large, complex environments
Strong technical aptitude with proven ability to manage cross-functional initiatives
Familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products
Strong configuration and automation specialist, with advanced skills in JQL, workflows, schemes, automation rules, dashboards, and reporting, plus experience using REST APIs, Groovy (ScriptRunner), and Python
Preferred
Proven track record of driving program delivery at scale within a technology-driven organization
Demonstrated ability to safely integrate AI/ML-enabled solutions that advance business objectives
Consultative partner to the business, comfortable engaging directly with senior stakeholders to understand problems, propose options, and translate complex requirements into practical, scalable Atlassian solutions
Enterprise planning and portfolio-minded, with experience supporting planning cycles, portfolio road mapping, dependency and risk management, capacity planning, and prioritization using Atlassian tools
Excellent communicator and facilitator, able to lead workshops, training, and working sessions; explain Atlassian concepts in simple language; and influence teams toward standard patterns and governance
Inclusive and collaborative teammate, who builds trust across disciplines, welcomes diverse perspectives, and focuses on creating solutions that work for both individual teams and the broader enterprise
Bonus points if you have Atlassian certifications (such as ACP credentials), or Background in internal consulting, platform enablement, or transformation programs
