In this role, the intern will lead copyright partnership initiatives, manage copyright negotiations, and engage in script translation to enhance TikTok's overseas short drama offerings.

Responsibilities
Lead copyright partnership initiatives for overseas short dramas to expand the pipeline of targeted content supply
Apply solid understanding of short drama content; leverage a sharp eye for identifying hit content, provide strategic guidance on imported content quality, and drive growth in both overall content volume and the number of premium short drama titles
Screen and manage key copyright holders on an ongoing basis. Independently handle end-to-end copyright negotiations, contract execution and content launch processes to secure favorable copyright terms and maximize partnership value
Acquire exclusive premiere rights to new short drama titles and support the overseas distribution of top-performing domestic short dramas, with the goal to boost the coverage of hit content offerings
Monitor overseas short drama rankings on a regular basis to maintain the market-leading edge of TikTok’s overseas short drama portfolio in the market
Continuously refine partnership and management workflows throughout the collaboration lifecycle; proactively identify potential partnership risks, develop viable solutions and drive their effective implementation
Script Translation (Chinese → English)
Translate Chinese short-form drama scripts into natural, fluent English tailored to overseas audiences’ reading and viewing habits
Avoid literal or machine-like translations; accurately convey character dynamics, emotional intensity, and dramatic tension
Proficiently use AI-assisted translation tools, identify and fix AI errors, and ensure complete and accurate restoration of all story information and plot points from the original script
Script Repair & Formatting
During the translation process, perform basic script repair and optimization, including formatting and structure
Familiarity with standard Hollywood screenplay format (or willingness to learn quickly)
Able to identify and clearly flag logic gaps, awkward expressions, emotional discontinuities, or unclear motivations, so the script can be translated smoothly and effectively
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Film and Television Production, Broadcasting and Hosting, Media Communication, Journalism, or related majors
Overseas education background; English used as a primary language. English proficiency: IELTS 7.0+, with strong reading comprehension as a key requirement
Academic background in Film, Screenwriting, Theatre, Media, or related fields Film school background strongly preferred
Experience with English writing or scriptwriting (coursework, short films, stage plays, scripts, fiction, etc. — professional credit not required)
Genuine interest in short-form drama; actively watches short dramas and follows overseas short-form content trends
Highly sensitive to language; able to work patiently and meticulously with long texts and multiple revision rounds
Basic understanding of story structure and pacing, with the ability to judge whether a scene flows
