Electrical Designer

Cleaning Technologies Group is seeking an Electrical Designer responsible for the electrical design and documentation of engineered-to-order machinery and systems. The role involves developing electrical schematics, coordinating with various engineering disciplines, and ensuring compliance with electrical codes and standards.

Responsibilities

Develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent tools
Generate complete electrical drawing packages in accordance with company and industry standards
Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and internal drafting procedures
Prepare customer approval drawings and documentation
Own the electrical design content for assigned projects from engineering kickoff through customer acceptance
Review customer specifications and sales/proposal engineering files to inform electrical design decisions
Define electrical scope and coordinate integration with mechanical and controls designs
Collaborate with Project Managers, Controls Engineers, Manufacturing, and Vendors to align electrical execution with project needs
Support Purchasing with material requisitions and technical clarification
Assist with expediting materials when schedule impacts arise
Assist manufacturing personnel during panel build and machine assembly to resolve electrical design questions
Support in-house testing and customer runoffs as required
Provide field support and troubleshooting assistance when necessary
Incorporate reliability and maintainability considerations into electrical designs
Follow and reinforce electrical design standards and best practices
Address punch-list and corrective items prior to shipment
Prepare and maintain electrical documentation, manuals, and line-up forms for manufacturing and maintenance
Support R&D and continuous improvement initiatives
Contribute lessons learned and design improvements to future projects
Ensure electrical material selections align with project cost and scope expectations
Support departmental goals and operational initiatives as required
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Associate degree in engineering, and/or 2 to 4 years of relevant technical experience
Basic knowledge of computers, electrical and design concepts
Experience in AutoCAD Electric
Basic Microsoft Office products knowledge
Ability to communicate verbally and/or in writing with other employees, other departments, supervision, customers, and management
Ability to present information to groups of employees, customers, vendors, etc
Ability to perform advanced level mathematic reasoning
Ability to use calculations consistent with the electrical design of equipment in the cleaning equipment industry
Ability to identify work process problems and possible solutions
Maintain local, regional and/or national membership in appropriate professional organizations/associations as necessary
Ability to sit at workstation for prolonged periods of time
Ability to adjust visual focus
Ability to reach, stoop and/or bend on an as needed basis
Ability to climb stairs as necessary
Ability to work in controlled environment of office, along with traditional shop atmosphere
Ability to be exposed to loud noises and various fumes or smells based on job
Ability to work around high voltage machinery
Ability to periodically travel to customer's jobsite for startups, machine commissioning and warranty work as dictated by project
