Responsibilities

Conduct initial housing intake and assessment for individuals and families seeking housing support
Provide referral to appropriate community housing programs and supportive services, including follow up
Assist participants in completing lease agreements and obtaining other supportive documents such as identification, social security cards and applications for relevant social service or other housing programs
Input client data into HMIS data system and assist in producing relevant reports from HMIS. Produce additional reports recording Coordinated Entry activities
Track all agency housing program openings, maintain up to date information on vacancies and other housing program issues
Research housing topics, collect and organize housing information for clients and local housing assistance agency staff
Facilitate and coordinate supportive activities and services with other agencies, including accessing mental health, substance abuse, or medical services, employment assistance activities such as job readiness skills, and any other relevant activities for program participants
Maintain thorough and complete records of participants' activity and progress. Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with agencies, housing programs and community resources
Participate with the Housing Assistance Team to coordinate the activities of agencies and community groups that comprise the Housing Continuum of Care; assist in developing policies, strategies and activities toward ending homelessness

Required

Valid Washington Drivers License. Ability to travel to various sites
Ability and willingness to work individually in a self-directed manner and exercise discretion, judgement, and authority to make independent decisions on the needs of clients
Outstanding organizational and record keeping skills, including the ability to maintain accurate and confidential files
Ability to work with homeless and low income individuals of diverse backgrounds, cultural identities, and disabilities including physical, mental, and substance use disorder
Comfortable dealing with change, able to quickly grasp new techniques, and remain calm in stressful situations
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, able to relate to various personality styles in a calm, professional manner. Have the desire to develop strong working relationships with co-workers, clients, and housing assistance community
Understands the need for maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
Independent and self motivated to complete required deadlines while simultaneously completing other tasks
Experience working with individuals and groups regarding sensitive issues
Skills in HMIS system, or ability to understand online reporting systems. Skills in documenting case notes, program activities, and entering data. Ability to prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports
Skills in operating standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, calculators, and photocopiers, including use of Microsoft Office suite of programs
Bachelor's Degree and at least one year experience in social service environment
Minimum of one year's successful experience in adult case management and or housing programs required
