Qualification
Required
You must live in the Austin area to be considered for this job
You must have experience at an MSP
Dependability: There's a 15-min response-time SLA for our helpdesk and you'll be running appointments solo after training
Independence: It's important that you're the type that takes charge of your work and likes getting things done on your own
Emotional Intelligence: You can sense when someone is becoming upset, know how to respond in a way that eases their frustration
Organization: You should always be considering the information that other techs might need to have later
That IT Magic: You've got to have that wizardry that makes technology problems vanish in your hands
Get-it-done Mentality: We get issues resolved fast and try to have a clear ticket board at the end of the day
Windows: Desktop & Server operating systems, Active Directory, AzureAD, Group Policy, RDS/Terminal Server and RDP
PC Hardware: Know how to build, test, and isolate problems with processors, memory, power, graphics, etc
Apple: MacOS, iOS Mail, iCloud
Office Applications: Microsoft 365, Google Workspace
Email: Exchange Online / On-Prem, IMAP, SMTP, POP3, Gmail, Outlook, MX/SPF/DMARC records, email migration
Virtualization: Hyper-V Server, VMware
Backup: Veeam, StorageCraft, Datto and similar disaster-recovery services
Routers & Firewalls: Know your way around Ubiquiti products and other vendors' gear
Networking: DNS
Basic routing/switching, DHCP, VLANs, Subnets, VPNs
Command-line Tools: PowerShell & batch scripting, MacOS shell script
Printers: Know how to set up a print server, reinstall drivers, and set up scan-to email on an MFP
A reliable vehicle
At least a CompTIA A+ or higher-level certification
Ideally, you'll have 2+ years of Senior Systems Administrator experience at an MSP
Preferred
Other Windows & networking certifications are definitely a plus, but not required
