Responsibilities

Conduct traffic operations and safety analyses for rail grade crossings and associated roadway projects
Prepare preliminary and final design plans, specifications, and engineering calculations
Coordinate drafting of project deliverables and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal standards
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers
Build and maintain client relationships, including local and state transportation agencies
Represent Benesch at industry and professional events

Required

B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline
Professional Engineer (PE) license
5–10 years of experience in rail/traffic engineering, grade crossing design, or related transportation work
Experience working with public agencies and municipalities
Strong knowledge of traffic operations, signal design, safety analyses, and roadway design
Proficiency with CADD, Synchro, GIS, and other traffic modeling or design software
Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage project deliverables, and mentor staff
Excellent communication, client relations, and organizational skills

State DOT experience preferred
