They are seeking a visionary Director of Engineering - AI to lead the shift toward an AI-accelerated engineering model, defining architectural patterns and operationalizing frameworks for productivity engineering.

Responsibilities
Champion AI‑powered code generation and spec‑to‑build workflows
Drive the cultural and operational shift toward rapid, automated development cycles
Establish an engineering operating model built for speed, iteration, and continuous improvement
Define architectural patterns optimized for generative AI development
Build or oversee tooling for spec ingestion, automated tests, dashboards, deployment automation, and CICD evolution
Partner with Product, QA, and business leaders to align engineering delivery with outcomes
Operationalize frameworks enabling daily, testable builds
Leverage agentic systems, automation, and intelligent pipelines to reduce manual effort
Implement architectural guardrails for consistency, reliability, and scale
Develop and own key productivity metrics, including:
Prototype foundational components and reference implementations
Lead architectural decision‑making
Troubleshoot complex distributed systems and pipelines
Inspire teams with a clear vision for AI‑driven engineering excellence
Define next‑generation engineering management practices
Recruit and grow teams built for high‑velocity, AI‑augmented development
Qualification
Required
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future
Senior‑level engineering or architecture leadership experience
Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud platforms, and scalable architectures
Experience with AI‑assisted engineering and productivity tooling
Strong background in DevSecOps, automation, and continuous delivery practices
Proven ability to drive large‑scale engineering transformation initiatives
Ability to build custom internal platforms, tools, and pipelines
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder partnership skills
Preferred
You deeply understand distributed systems and modern cloud architecture
You have hands‑on experience with AI‑assisted development and emerging agentic workflows
You blend technical depth with transformation leadership
You operate with urgency and build cultures centered around automation, speed, and measurable impact
You can architect and implement custom engineering tools and pipelines that accelerate delivery
