Staff Trainer - Patient / Customer Service

Responsibilities
Maintains patient confidentiality at all times
Assists in the development of documents and protocols related to his or her job functions
Responsible for orientation of new staff, training and checking off on skills and core competencies, and assisting managers in remedial training of staff as needed
Provide feedback and information to managers about current staffing successes and struggles
Assess the performance of each patient service representative professional and adjust training methods and approaches to increase effectiveness
Ongoing mentorship and training of the PSRs (and managers when needed):
Greeting, checking, and making patients feel welcome when arriving for an appointment
Verifies necessary information such as and to include:
Patient demographics in eCW software
Type of clinical visit and duration
Insurance information or proof of income
Scanning of insurance cards and current ID
Preform a two-day chart Preparation, to include:
Chart preparation
Confirmation calls
Insurance verification
Slide verification
Document account with needed information
Perform next-day appointment reminders when needed
Documents patient cancellations, and no-show appointments and maintains no-show log
Call and reschedule no-show appointments
Assess and sign off on the Patient Service Representative's completion of competency training
Maintain training checkoff lists for managers
Daily clinic site visits to ensure proper implementation of training
Performs other appropriate duties as requested by managers
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous customer service experience
Instructional proficiency with sound communication skills
Exceptional time management skills and critical thinking
Good listening skills
Exceptional ability to give attention to all the trainees
Good presentation skills
Must thoroughly know modern office practices, procedures, and equipment, including computers, copiers, Microsoft Office, and other standard office equipment
Ability to work independently, organize, monitor, and adjust work as necessary to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems
Able to provide innovative input into the development of the office environments and its processes
Able to learn new concepts and procedures quickly
Excellent organization skills and commitment to accuracy
Ability to strongly embrace and personify the mission and values of GraceMed with socio-economic and cultural sensitivity in mind
Must display good verbal and written communication skills and be able to receive and follow oral instructions professionally
Compassion for patients, family members, and others, along with a nurturing spirit to provide care during stressful situations
Able to communicate well with people in person and on the telephone
Preferred
Previous medical receptionist experience or background in general office work preferred
Additional training and/or experience in office procedures and medical terminology preferred
